RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication (syndicating means to publish an article from another source, as a website) or Rich Site Summary. RSS is a way to publish updates to Web sites. The RSS feed usually contains the title of updating the site. It is usually also the link to the website source.

It may or may not, contains a summary and photos of more recent contributions. But those summaries (thus Rich Site Summary) allow the user Skim the articles so that they could contribute to a later stage, if they want to access the website source.

The weakness of RSS

  • Most readers prefer even a series of changes in a brief summary of entry, making them more access to the site.
  • Some people prefer e-mail updates an RSS feed.
  • RSS create more traffic and demands on the server.
  • Graphics and photos are not at all feeds.
  • The identity of the source site can lead to confusion. Since RSS feeds, not the URL or name of the site, can sometimes be confusing what the diet is really a user to read.
